BOSTON, Mass.- Boston has named new neighborhood liaisons for Mid-Dorchester, Charlestown and Roxbury as part of the Mayor’s Office of Neighborhood Services.
Mayor Michelle Wu announced Tuesday that Marcus McNeill will serve Mid-Dorchester, Isabella Carr will serve Charlestown, and Abdullah Beckett will serve Roxbury.
The liaisons will connect residents with city services, help address constituent service requests, attend neighborhood meetings and facilitate communication between residents and City Hall.
McNeill was born and raised in Boston and currently lives in Dorchester. He recently graduated from American University with a degree in political science. He previously worked at the U.S. Department of Education and for Boston City Councilor Ruthzee Louijeune.
Carr was born and raised in Charlestown, where she currently lives. She graduated from Boston Latin School and the University of Alabama, where she studied international studies and Italian. She has previous experience in Boston government and policy.
Beckett is a fourth-generation Bostonian who was born and raised in Roxbury. He graduated from Charlestown High School and UMass Boston and is pursuing a master’s degree in public administration at Northeastern University. He previously worked for Boston City Councilor Brian Worrell and in the city’s Department of Supplier Diversity.
“Strong communities start with meaningful connections between residents and City Hall,” Wu said.
The three liaisons will participate in the mayor’s Neighborhood Coffee Hours and hold in-person office hours every Friday to help residents navigate city services.
