DORCHESTER, Boston.- Three people were arrested, three others were issued summonses, and 12 mopeds were towed during a targeted enforcement operation in Dorchester on Saturday, August 29, 2026.
The operation focused on scooters and mopeds in response to ongoing public safety concerns involving their use in Dorchester and Roxbury. The enforcement took place near the route of the Caribbean Carnival Parade.
Police said the operation was intended to prevent attendees from being exposed to unsafe and reckless operation of scooters and mopeds.
Officers assigned to the Scooter Interdiction Team conducted the operation and towed 12 mopeds for violations of Massachusetts auto laws.
The Boston Police Department said it will continue conducting traffic enforcement operations across the city.
