HYDE PARK, Boston.- A three-alarm fire heavily damaged a two-and-a-half-story home on Metropolitan Avenue in Boston’s Hyde Park early Sunday morning.
Three adults and a dog escaped safely, and no injuries were reported, according to the Boston Fire Department. The family’s cat was still missing.
Firefighters arrived around 3:43 a.m. Aug. 30 and found the front of the home fully on fire. Crews remained at the scene to put out remaining hot spots and check the home for any fire that could still be burning.
Power lines near the front of the home were a concern, and the utility company was contacted to shut off the power.
Fire crews were stationed at 596 Metropolitan Ave. by about 5:01 a.m. The Red Cross was called to help the family with emergency needs.
