SEAPORT, Boston.- Boston Westin guests were evacuated early Saturday after a small fire broke out behind a refrigerator unit on the hotel’s first floor.
Firefighters responded to the Westin Hotel shortly before 1 a.m. Aug. 29 after companies received an alarm. The fire was located in a first-floor store and was quickly extinguished. Crews then checked the area for extension.
Smoke had spread into the lobby, prompting firefighters to use fans to clear the area. Guests were allowed to return to their rooms after an all-clear was issued at about 1:13 a.m.
One guest was transported by Boston Emergency Medical Services. No injuries were reported.
