Thirty-one mopeds were towed and 12 people were issued summonses Tuesday during a targeted enforcement operation in Dorchester and Roxbury focused on scooter and moped violations.
The operation took place in the areas of Blue Hill Avenue and Warren Street. Officers and detectives assigned to Boston police in Roxbury worked with the department’s Auto Theft Unit.
Police said the operation was organized in response to ongoing public safety concerns involving the use of scooters and mopeds in the two neighborhoods.
The 31 mopeds were towed for violations of auto laws, while 12 individuals were issued summonses.
Boston police said they will continue conducting enforcement operations across the city as part of efforts to improve traffic safety.
