DORCHESTER, Boston.- Two men have been arrested in connection with a robbery in Dorchester in which two victims were physically assaulted and had a moped, jewelry, clothing and cellphones stolen, according to Boston police.
Teudi Dume, 19, of Roxbury, surrendered to police at about 10 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 12. He was wanted on a warrant issued by Roxbury District Court charging him with armed robbery, assault and battery, and assault with a dangerous weapon.
Brian Quinonez, 18, of Dorchester, was arrested at about 6 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 5, in the area of 81 McLellan Street in Dorchester. He was wanted on a warrant charging him with armed robbery, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, assault and battery, and assault with a dangerous weapon.
Both men were arraigned in Roxbury District Court.
According to police, at about 3:30 a.m. on July 12, two victims approached officers on patrol in the area of 668 Dudley Street and reported that they had been robbed. A group of suspects armed with firearms had physically assaulted the victims before stealing their moped, jewelry, clothing and cellphones. Boston EMS transported both victims to local hospitals with injuries that were not life-threatening.
As detectives investigated the robbery, Boston police officers and detectives executed a search warrant Aug. 5 in the area of 81 McLellan Street. During the search, police located a high-capacity magazine loaded with 32 rounds of ammunition. The Auto Theft Unit also seized three dirt bikes and two motorcycles from the property.
Later that morning, members of the Youth Violence Strike Force arrested Quinonez. Dume surrendered to police one week later, on Aug. 12. Both men were wanted on warrants obtained by detectives in connection with the case.
