DOWNTOWN, Boston.- A man died after being stabbed during an altercation at South Station in Boston on Wednesday evening, August 12, 2026, according to police.
Transit Police officers responded to a report of a stabbing near 675 Atlantic Avenue at about 5:33 p.m. Officers found the adult male victim suffering from an apparent stab wound inside the train station.
The victim was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
A preliminary investigation indicates that the victim and a suspect became involved in an altercation on an escalator leading to an exit from South Station.
The Boston Police Department’s Homicide Unit is investigating the circumstances surrounding the death. No information about the suspect or a possible motive was provided.
