MATTAPAN, Boston.- The death of an 18-year-old Boston woman found inside a Mattapan home owned by the husband of U.S. Rep. Ayanna Pressley has been ruled a homicide, authorities announced.
Yoseliani Ann Marte Ocasio, 18, of Boston, was found on July 18, 2026, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound inside the residence at 25 Malta Street in Mattapan.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner ruled the death a homicide on July 30, according to the Boston Police Department, which is investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
Police said officers responded at about 1:52 p.m. on July 18 to a report of a person shot at the residence. Officers entered the home and found Marte Ocasio with an apparent gunshot wound. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The property is owned by Conan Harris, Pressley’s husband. The residence has been identified as a rental property.
No arrests have been made. The Boston Police Department Homicide Unit is actively investigating the case.
Pressley previously issued a statement mourning Marte Ocasio’s death.
“I am devastated about the death of Yoseliani Marte, an 18-year-old with so many dreams ahead of her, her life cut short by domestic violence,” Pressley said. “As the parent of a teenager, the thought of a young person violently losing their life in this way is beyond crushing.”
