Jamaica Plain and the South End will have new neighborhood liaisons under the City of Boston, following appointments announced Monday by the Office of Neighborhood Services.
The Mayor’s Office of Neighborhood Services, part of the city’s Community Engagement Cabinet, named new liaisons for Jamaica Plain and for the South End and Bay Village. The office connects residents with city services, relays neighborhood concerns to departments, and helps coordinate responses to constituent issues.
City officials said the appointments are intended to improve communication between residents and government and strengthen access to city services at the neighborhood level.
Zavia Dickerson will serve as liaison for Jamaica Plain. She has a background in education, public administration, and youth-focused city programs, including work with Boston’s Office of Youth Engagement and Advancement.
Michaela Nee will serve the South End and Bay Village. Her experience includes work in education, nonprofit programs supporting vulnerable populations, and city operations through Boston 311 and other municipal roles focused on community services.
Both roles involve working directly with residents, attending community meetings, and helping address local concerns through city departments. Officials said the liaisons will also participate in public office hours and neighborhood events designed to connect residents with city services.
