BOSTON, Mass.- A 33-year-old Boston man was arrested on May 30, 2026, following a joint drug enforcement operation conducted by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and Boston Police in Chinatown and the Theatre District.
Members of the BPD Drug Control Units, working with DEA FIT Team members, concluded a narcotics investigation targeting alleged drug distribution activity in the Chinatown, Boston and the Theatre District, Boston neighborhoods.
At approximately 11:00 a.m., officers conducting surveillance near 285 Tremont Street observed a subject exit the rear of the building and walk toward Oak Street West. Officers approached the individual, identified themselves as Boston Police officers, and informed him they had search warrants for both his person and a residence at the Tremont Street address.
During the stop, officers seized a cell phone and an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency from the subject.
Officers subsequently executed the search warrant at the apartment and seized approximately 18 grams of fentanyl, approximately 10 grams of crack cocaine, 77 Suboxone film strips, and an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency, according to police.
The suspect, identified as Li Wei Mei, 33, of Boston, was transported to Nashua Street Jail for booking. He was arraigned in Boston Municipal Court on charges of trafficking a Class A substance (fentanyl) and trafficking a Class B substance (crack cocaine).
The investigation remains part of ongoing enforcement efforts targeting alleged drug distribution operations in central Boston.
