BOSTON, Mass.- A three-alarm fire burned through the roof of a triple-decker home in Boston’s Dorchester neighborhood Saturday evening as firefighters worked to prevent the blaze from spreading to nearby buildings.
The fire broke out around 8:15 p.m. on May 23 at 18 Treadway Road, according to the Boston Fire Department. Officials reported heavy fire conditions as crews responded to the scene and escalated the incident to a third alarm.
Firefighters said flames spread through all three floors of the building before burning through the roof. Crews launched what officials described as an aggressive interior and exterior attack using multiple ground and aerial ladders.
By approximately 8:32 p.m., firefighters reported that the heavy fire had been knocked down while crews continued working to contain hotspots and protect surrounding homes in the densely populated neighborhood.
No information about injuries, evacuations, or the cause of the fire was immediately released Saturday night.
