A 16-year-old was arrested in Dorchester after a ShotSpotter activation and reports of a gunshot near 362 Geneva Avenue early Sunday, May 10, 2026, at about 2:34 a.m.
Boston Police said residents reported hearing a gunshot, and a witness described seeing a male in dark clothing enter a dark-colored Infiniti sedan that left the area toward Fields Corner. Officers later located ballistic evidence at Geneva Avenue and Oakley Street.
At about 2:39 a.m., officers stopped a matching vehicle on Dorchester Avenue. During the stop, they observed what appeared to be a firearm on the rear floorboard and ordered occupants out of the car.
Police identified the weapon as a Polymer80 9mm handgun with no serial number, loaded with 11 rounds in the magazine and one in the chamber, with a 17-round capacity magazine and flashlight attachment.
He is expected to be arraigned in Boston Juvenile Court on firearm and ammunition-related charges.
