Almost half a kilo of fentanyl seized in Roxbury drug trafficking case

A Roxbury man is facing drug trafficking charges after nearly half a kilogram of fentanyl was seized during a joint law enforcement operation in the Grove Hall and Lower Blue Hill Avenue area on Monday, April 27, 2026, authorities said.

Investigators carried out multiple search warrants as part of an ongoing drug trafficking investigation that stemmed from community complaints about drug activity in the area.

At approximately 1:05 p.m., officers observed Anderson Moscat, 36, of Roxbury, leaving a residence at 48 Blue Hill Ave and approaching a parked vehicle on Blue Hill Avenue. He was approached by investigators and informed that search warrants had been issued for him, his residence, and his vehicle.

During a search of Moscat’s person, investigators recovered a package containing a tan powder. He was taken into custody without incident.

Using his keys, officers then entered the residence, where they reported finding multiple packages of tan powder, a package of white powder, and two fraudulent identification documents, including a false Social Security card and a counterfeit U.S. Permanent Resident card bearing a different name. A Dominican passport was also recovered.

Authorities said the combined searches resulted in the seizure of approximately 405 grams (just over 0.4 kilograms) of fentanyl, 22 grams of cocaine, and an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency.

Moscat is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court. He has been charged with trafficking in a Class A controlled substance (fentanyl), over 200 grams, and trafficking in a Class B controlled substance (cocaine), 18 to 36 grams.
