Boston police arrested a 14-year-old following a reported robbery in Dorchester on Wednesday evening, according to authorities.
Around 7:07 p.m. on April 8, officers responded to a call near 42 Charles Street for a reported robbery. Upon arrival, victims told officers they had been walking on Park Street toward Charles Street when they were assaulted from behind and had a cellphone taken.
Investigators said three suspects approached the victims from behind and struck one victim in the back of the head before taking the phone and fleeing toward Dorchester Avenue. Boston EMS transported one victim to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Detectives later circulated an image of potential suspects. At approximately 7:42 p.m., officers located two individuals matching the description provided in the earlier report.
Police arrested a 14-year-old boy, who is expected to be arraigned in Boston Juvenile Court on a charge of unarmed robbery. A second individual was released without further action.
