A Cambridge man, Daniel Rodriguez, 36, has been indicted by a federal grand jury for trafficking four women and attempting to traffic a fifth, including one victim who was a minor when first exploited.
Rodriguez faces one count of sex trafficking of a minor, four counts of sex trafficking by force, fraud, or coercion, one count of attempted sex trafficking, and one count of coercing someone to travel across state lines to engage in prostitution. He is currently in state custody and will be arraigned in federal court in the coming weeks.
According to the indictment, Rodriguez allegedly forced four women into commercial sex from 2018 through January 2026, with one victim beginning when she was a minor. He also allegedly attempted to force a fifth victim in 2017. His trafficking operations reportedly included travel to Florida, South Carolina, Tennessee, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Maine.
Publicly filed documents note that Rodriguez was arrested on state charges in January 2026 after a high-speed chase in Randolph, Massachusetts, ending in a crash with one of his victims in the car. Authorities say he used physical violence, stalking, and fraud to compel victims into commercial sex.
Federal charges carry mandatory minimum sentences ranging from 10 to 15 years, with potential maximum sentences of life in prison, plus fines and supervised release. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Elizabeth Riley and Craig Estes of the Human Trafficking & Civil Rights Unit.
The indictment was announced Wednesday, March 18, 2026, in Boston.
