Fraudulent parking violation court notices are circulating in Boston, targeting residents with documents designed to look like official Boston Municipal Court notices.
According to the the Police Department, these fake notices often include a case number, judge name and signature, a court address, a hearing date, a Massachusetts state seal, and a QR code prompting payment.
The notices were not issued by the City of Boston or any government agency. Residents are warned not to scan QR codes or submit payments from unsolicited notices without verifying them through official channels.
