Three people were arrested and cocaine was seized during targeted narcotics operations near Edward Everett Square in Dorchester, the Boston Police Department said. Police said the actions followed intelligence on drug distribution near Columbia Road, Massachusetts Avenue, and East Cottage Street.
Officers identified Christopher Docanto, 33, as a suspected crack cocaine distributor. On Feb. 2, police stopped Docanto near Massachusetts Avenue and executed search warrants at his Elder Street residence. Authorities seized 26.9 grams of crack cocaine, a digital scale, packaging materials, and other distribution-related items. Two women were inside; one, Rachel Lubanski, 21, had an active warrant and was arrested. Docanto faces charges of trafficking in cocaine and is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.
A second investigation led to the arrest of Roni Batista Fonseca, 27, on Feb. 27. Officers stopped him on East Cottage Street, recovering four individually packaged bags of cocaine, a wallet, and cash. A search of his Chase Street residence yielded no additional evidence. Batista Fonseca faces possession with intent to distribute a Class B substance charge.
Police said the arrests are part of ongoing efforts to disrupt drug distribution in Dorchester and nearby neighborhoods.
