A 33-year-old man was arrested Friday afternoon following the execution of a search warrant as part of an ongoing narcotics investigation, according to authorities.
On January 9, 2026, members of the Boston Police Department’s Drug Control Unit executed a search warrant at a residence located on Talbot Avenue. Police said that at approximately 2:30 p.m., officers observed the target of the investigation exit the residence near the intersection of Talbot Avenue and Bernard Street and appear to wait for another individual. A motor vehicle then arrived, and the individual entered the passenger seat. Officers conducted a traffic stop, identified the individual, and took him into custody without incident.
Following the arrest, officers executed the search warrant at the residence. A protective sweep was conducted, and two individuals were located inside. Both were advised of the warrant while officers conducted a search of the apartment.
During the search, police said officers seized a loaded Protec .25 caliber semi-automatic pistol and additional ammunition from a bag located near a bedroom dresser. Officers also seized a large bag and multiple smaller bags containing a brown powdery substance believed to be fentanyl, as well as numerous individually packaged bags of crack cocaine. Authorities said the suspected narcotics were concealed inside footwear and other containers in the bedroom, consistent with street-level drug distribution.
Police additionally seized digital scales, drug packaging materials, and multiple forms of identification belonging to the suspect. An undisclosed amount of U.S. currency, totaling several thousand dollars in various denominations and believed to be connected to illegal drug distribution, was also seized.
The firearm and suspected narcotics were secured as evidence.
As a result of the investigation, Andy Alcantara-Beltre, 33, of Dorchester, was placed under arrest. He is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court on charges including unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, trafficking in a Class A substance over 100 grams, and possession with intent to distribute a Class B substance.
