The Callahan Tunnel will be closed to traffic overnight for three nights this week as crews perform maintenance on the Richmond Street Bridge, according to the Massachusetts Department of Transportation.
The closures will run from Monday, November 17, through Wednesday, November 19, beginning each night at 11 p.m. and ending at 5 a.m. the following morning. Drivers heading to or from East Boston and Logan Airport will be detoured during the shutdowns, MassDOT said.
Officials did not provide additional information about the scope of the work or whether drivers should expect delays outside of the overnight hours. MassDOT encouraged motorists to allow extra time and follow posted detour signs.
