Coats for Kids & Families collecting winter coats in Dorchester through January 10

With winter approaching and costs rising, Uncornered Inc. of Dorchester, located at 222 Bowdoin Street, is helping collect warm winter coats as part of Caring Partners’ Coats for Kids & Families drive, which runs through January 10, 2026.

Donations of new or gently used coats of all sizes can be dropped off there or at any Anton’s Cleaners, Jordan’s Furniture, or Rockland Trust location. The coats are cleaned by Anton’s Cleaners and distributed free of charge to local nonprofits and schools.

Now in its 31st year, Coats for Kids & Families is New England’s largest coat drive, with more than 1.2 million coats distributed since 1995. Organizers hope to collect 50,000 coats this season amid growing demand.

The program accepts only warm, good-quality coats; items such as sweatshirts, vests, and accessories are not accepted.
