Two people were arrested and two firearms were seized after Boston police responded to a report of a person with a gun in Dorchester last Tuesday morning.
Officers from the Boston Police arrived at Wilcock Street shortly after 7:30 a.m. on July 22, 2025, after receiving information that a woman inside a parked vehicle had a firearm and the driver appeared unresponsive.
Police found the car running, its lights on, and loud music playing. The female passenger matched the description provided by dispatchers and was removed from the vehicle. The male driver was found slumped over the steering wheel and did not respond to verbal commands. Officers opened the driver’s side door and tried to remove him, but he resisted. As he exited the car, a large bag of marijuana fell to the ground. Officers restrained and arrested him with help from additional units.
A search of the vehicle led to the seizure of two firearms, one identified as a stolen Ruger LC with a round in the chamber and six in the magazine, and the other an untraceable ghost gun loaded with eight rounds. Police also found two loose bullets and a small bag believed to contain crack cocaine.
The driver, identified as 32-year-old Demetrius Thomas of Roslindale, was charged with drug possession and refusing to identify himself as the driver. The passenger, 20-year-old Gimaris Vicente of Boston, was charged with having a gun without a license, carrying a loaded weapon illegally, illegally possessing ammunition, and having stolen property.
