A suspect has been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred in Dorchester in May 2023. Amari Williams of Acada, Georgia, was taken into custody on Thursday, March 6, 2025, at approximately 2:35 PM at Boston Police Headquarters. Williams was arrested on an arrest warrant charging him with murder and carrying a firearm without a license. He is expected to be arraigned in Suffolk Superior Court.
The arrest follows a fatal shooting that occurred in Dorchester in May 2023. On Monday, May 22, 2023, at approximately 4:57 PM, officers responded to a report of shots fired in 264 Columbia Road. Upon arrival, an adult male was found suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. The victim, identified as 33-year-old Daniel T. Mayers of Haverhill, was transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.
