The 12th Annual Franklin Park Turkey Trot, Boston’s largest Thanksgiving Day race, attracts participants from surrounding neighborhoods like Dorchester, Roxbury, Jamaica Plain, and Mattapan, along with out-of-town visitors.
The event offers chip timing, awards for fast finishers and best costumes, and welcomes strollers, wheelchairs, and leashed dogs. Walking groups will be available for participants who prefer a slower pace, and kids aged 5 and under can join for free, with no registration required.
Held at the Franklin Park Golf Clubhouse, 1 Circuit Drive in Dorchester, the race will begin at 9:00 am on Thanksgiving Day, November 28, 2024. Race day number pickup starts at 8:00 am, with early bib pickup available on November 16 and 23 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the Golf Clubhouse. Organizers encourage early pickup to avoid race day delays, as registration may be limited.
Parking is available at the Golf Clubhouse, along Circuit Drive, and in nearby lots. The 5K course will follow a scenic loop around the golf course, with both the start and finish near the Clubhouse.
Participants are reminded to enter the park via Blue Hill Avenue or Arborway at Morton Street, as the Canterbury Street maintenance yard is not a public access point.
