On Friday, October 18, 2024, officers from the Boston Police Department arrested Marvin Chery, 27, of Boston, following a traffic stop near 244 Almont Street in Mattapan.
Chery was wanted on a warrant in connection with a shooting incident that occurred on September 27, 2024, near 468 Harvard Street in Dorchester, where officers recovered ballistic evidence after reports of shots fired. No injuries were reported at the scene.
Chery now faces multiple charges, including Unlawful Possession of a Firearm (2nd Offense), Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Attempted Assault and Battery with a Firearm, Discharging a Firearm within 500 Feet of a Building, and Destruction of Property. He is set to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.
