Political Research Associates (PRA) has appointed Dorchester resident Sylvia Broude as its new Executive Director, following a unanimous vote by the board of directors. PRA, a 43-year-old research and strategy center, supports “social justice” organizations and civic leaders through research on “anti-democratic movements.”
Broude brings 20 years of experience in grassroots campaigns and non-profits. For 16 years, she led a Northeast U.S. organization focused on “climate and environmental justice”, achieving over 100 victories, including securing clean drinking water for thousands of families and halting new fracked gas pipelines, according to a press release.
Founded in 1981, Political Research Associates is a research and strategy center that defines itself as “devoted to supporting organizations, civic leaders, journalists, and social sectors that are building a more just and inclusive democratic society.”
