Joseph Ruggs, 28, of Dorchester, was arrested in Brockton on September 5th, 2024, in connection with the fatal shooting of Jashun Cooley, 38, of Roxbury. Ruggs faces charges of Murder, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Carrying a Firearm Without a License, and Discharging a Firearm Near a Building.
The arrest follows the August 24th, 2024, incident where Cooley was shot near 159 Washington Street in Dorchester. He was transported to a hospital but later died from his injuries.
