A Dorchester man, 38-year-old David Adams, was arrested on Saturday by detectives from the Homicide Unit and District C-11 (Dorchester) in connection with a fatal stabbing near Peabody Square on Dorchester Avenue. Investigators identified Adams as the suspect following the deadly incident that took place the previous night.
The incident took place on Friday, August 23, 2024, at approximately 9:59 PM. Officers responded to a report of a stabbing near 1879 Dorchester Avenue and found an adult male suffering from multiple stab wounds. The victim was transported to a local hospital by Boston EMS but was pronounced deceased shortly after arrival.
On August 26, the police department provided an update on the investigation, identifying the victim as 52-year-old David Abrain of Roxbury.
During their investigation, detectives canvassed the area, reviewing surveillance footage and speaking with witnesses. While searching the neighborhood, they spotted an individual who matched the suspect’s description. After further investigation, authorities determined that the individual was responsible for the stabbing and placed him under arrest. Adams was transported to District C-11 for booking and is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.
