Upon arrival, firefighters found heavy smoke and intense flames coming from the building.
Deputy Chief Brian Tully stated that there were no reported injuries from the incident. However, the fire displaced one adult and seven children from their home. The American Red Cross of Massachusetts is assisting the displaced residents with temporary housing arrangements, Tully added.
The estimated damage to the property is around $200,000. The Boston Fire Department’s Fire Investigation Unit (BFD-FIU) is working to determine the cause of the fire.
