Firefighters conduct overhaul operations at Marathon Runner Corner Store after containing the fire – Photo credit: Boston Fire DepartmentA fire broke out at the Marathon Runner Corner Store in Dorchester on the evening of Thursday, April 11th.
The Boston Fire Department, in a statement issued around 7:00 pm, reported that fire crews were actively engaged at 140 Norfolk Street, addressing a fire within the store’s wall.
Shortly after, firefighters managed to contain the fire, preventing its spread to neighboring stores. Fire companies remained on-site following the overhaul efforts.
No injuries were reported, and firefighters rescued a cat named “Meoshu” during the overhaul process.
As of now, there is no provided information regarding the cause of the fire. The fire agency estimates damages to be around $300,000.
