Photo courtesy of the Boston Parks and Recreation DepartmentThe 2024 Summer Sports Centers at White Stadium in Franklin Park, Ronan Park, Garvey Playground, and Hunt-Almont Park in Mattapan will open for registration on February 1, 2024, as announced by the Department of Parks and Recreation.
The program provides free sports instruction for Boston children aged 7-14 in a variety of popular sports, and in some locations, free summer camps are also available. Children have the option to enroll for one week of instruction or select a program duration spanning from July 8 to August 16.
The program is designed to make sports instruction accessible to children facing financial barriers, offering an affordable childcare option for parents during the summer. While lunch is provided, participants are responsible for arranging their transportation, as stated by the Department.
