Led by Jeffrey Calish, a knowledgeable Dorchester resident and member of the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at UMass Boston, the tour will last approximately 90 minutes.
This event is open to the public and completely free of charge. It will take place this Saturday, July 29th, at 10:30 am. Attendees are encouraged to wear comfortable walking shoes. The meeting point is in front of St. Gregory Church, at 2215 Dorchester Avenue.
The Dorchester Historical Society, established in 1843 and officially incorporated in 1891, aims to collect, preserve, and share knowledge about the history of the section of Boston formerly known as the Town of Dorchester. Additionally, the society is committed to maintaining and supporting the preservation of historic buildings and sites in the area.
