Luigi V. “Lou” Pasquale, aged 96, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family in Braintree. A proud WWII veteran and dedicated community member, Lou’s impact will be forever cherished.
Raised in Quincy, Lou served his country with honor as a Private First Class and machine gunner. Following his service, he embarked on a successful career and became involved in various local businesses in Dorchester, where he became a mentor to young individuals.
Pasquale was recognized for his contributions, including having a square named after him in Boston and serving as Chief Marshal of the 2022 Dorchester Day Parade.
Boston City Councilor At-Large Erin Murphy expressed her condolences, saying, “Luigi ‘Lou’ Pasquale was a stalwart of our community for many decades, evidenced by the commercial hub at Tenean and Freeport Streets that now bears his name, and his service as Chief Marshal of last year’s Dorchester Day Parade. But Lou, always smiling and with a kind word, meant so much more than that to generations of Bostonians.”
The Dorchester Day Parade Committee shared their thoughts and prayers, stating, “Mr. Louie Pasquale, The 2022 Chief Marshal of the Dorchester Day Parade, sadly passed away on Father’s Day at home with his family by his side. In July, Louie would have been 97. The Parade Committee was truly blessed to have known this wonderful and generous man. Our Thoughts and Prayers are with his Family and Friends. Sir, you will be truly missed and never forgotten!”
Luigi “Lou” Pasquale leaves behind a remarkable legacy as a community stalwart and beloved family man.
