On Monday, June 27, around 1:15 p.m., the Boston Fire Department responded to a building fire at 59 Wales Street that was already extending to the adjacent building. A 4th-alarm fire was ordered.
Approximately at 2:00 p.m., after several companies were working to stop the blazes, the fire agency announced the fire was extinguished.
Fire Commissioner Dempsey informed that sixteen displaced residents displaced by the fire were being taken care of by the City’s Office of Neighborhood Services and the Red Cross of Massachusetts. A cat and a bird were also saved by the firefighters.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
