The abused dog is believed to be a Chihuahua | Reference imageA 32-year-old man from Dorchester was arrested on charges of Cruelty to Animals on March 16, 2022.
Boston Police officers and detectives assigned to the Youth Violence Strike Force arrested Justin William “without incident” at his residence under an arrest warrant issued out of Dorchester District Court for the mentioned charge.
The arrest resulted from a “coordinated investigation involving the MSPCA and Boston Animal Care and Control which initiated on Monday, March 14, 2022,” the police said in a statement.
“Investigators had responded to the suspect’s residence after receiving a disturbing video documenting the suspect choking a small dog, believed to be a chihuahua while yelling profanities. A second video later showed the suspect throwing the dog into a clothes dryer and setting it on the highest possible temperature before turning it on,” the public agency said.
After the video evidence was received, the police “acted immediately” and Animal Control took custody of the dog “or treatment and evaluation.”
The police said that the investigation remains active and ongoing.
William was arraigned in Dorchester District Court.
