On Tuesday, December 14, around 11:00 a.m. the Boston Fire Department responded to a scene. The operator of the heavy machinery was stuck inside the cabin.
The fire agency, Boston Emergency Medical Services, and Boston Police waited until Eversource ($ES) shut down the electricity to free the operator.
“While the vast majority of the ~120 customers who lost power were restored an hour later, our crews continue to make repairs to the system due to the extensive damage. They will remain at the scene until power is restored to the four remaining customers,” said Eversource Massachusetts in a statement released approximately at 4:00 p.m.
The Fire Department reported that the excavator’s operator was not injured.
