On Friday, December 3, around 5:50 p.m. firefighters responded to a building fire at 1063 Washington Street in Dorchester. The building was under construction and unoccupied, according to the agency.
Working in “very poor visibility” due to the heavy smoke, firefighters managed to extinguish the fire by 7:20 p.m.
Later on Saturday, December 4, approximately 8:30 p.m., the fire department responded to a building fire at 383 Geneva Avenue in Dorchester. All floors of the three-decker building were on fire.

Firefighters quickly knocked down the 2nd-alarm fire that resulted in the displacement of six adults and six children.
Two firefighters that rescued the family cat suffered minor injuries.
Both incidents are under the review of the Boston Fire Department Investigation Unit. No estimates of the cost of damages were released.
