Dorchester resident Radley Theolien will play as a striker on the 2021 New England Revolution Unified team in the Massachusetts Special Olympics at Gillette Stadium on September 18, 2021.

Theolien, a communication student at MassBay College, was signed as one of the twelve Special Olympics Massachusetts athletes and Unified Sports® partners to the 2021 New England Revolution Unified Team.

“To be honest, I just love the sport of soccer. It’s my passion,” said Theolien, and continue: “I’m a huge sports fan and a huge New England Revolution fan, so I’m so excited for the opportunity to play on the team and play at Gillette Stadium. It was such a cool experience to meet my teammates, get signed to the team, and participate in a press conference. I can’t wait for the game!”

Theolien has been playing soccer since he was a young boy. He played in town leagues in Dorchester and was on the Needham High School junior varsity team during his freshman year of high school.

The 12 members of the 2021 Revolution Unified Team, all of whom reside in Massachusetts, signed their contracts on August 17 and were welcomed to the club by President of Kraft Family Philanthropies Josh Kraft, Revolution Sporting Director & Head Coach Bruce Arena, and Revolution President Brian Bilello.

The game will be held at the Gillette Stadium (Foxborough, MA) this Saturday, September 18, when the Revolution Unified Team hosts the Andover Stars Unified Team following New England’s MLS match against the Columbus Crew at 7:00 p.m.

“Taking the field at Gillette Stadium on Saturday will be a dream come true. For anyone, seeing a dream come true is truly amazing. I would tell everyone to keep dreaming big and never give up working towards their goals,” said Radley Theolien.
