In 2007 the Paige Farley-Hackel Memorial Park in Dorchester was dedicated at the Salvation Army’s Children Learning Center.
The park is a memorial to Paige Farley-Hackel, a member of The Salvation Army’s Greater Boston Advisory Board who lost her life on September 11, 2001. She was on American Airlines Flight 11 when the terrorist attack happened.
After the tragedy, Paige’s stepson Peter Hackel turned to mentor and blues icon James Montgomery to form the group “James Montgomery & Friends.”
The group now performs as “Soul of A Legend” celebrating those “Gone Too Soon,” featuring songs from iconic artists who perished at Paige’s age (45) or younger, including; Freddy Mercury, Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison, Jimi Hendrix, John Lennon, Elvis Presley, Keith Moon, Mama Cass-Elliot, Buddy Holly, Marvin Gaye, and others.
Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler, Badfinder’s Joey Molland, Foghat’s Charlie Huhn, and Ian Mitchell of The Bay City Rollers are just a few who have been featured on stage with “Soul of A Legend” in past shows.
The band will perform on September 11, 2021, at the Regent Theater (7 Medford St, Arlington, MA 02474). Doors open at 7:00 p.m. and the show starts at 8:00 p.m.
