Dorchester’s born and raised Hayes died Monday, August 23, 2021, in his Milton home at the age of 31, leaving his wife and children.
On August 24, the Boston Municipality headquarters building, located at 1 City Hall Square, was lighted up to remember Hayes, explained Mayor Kim Janey in an online statement.
“As a former Bruins and graduate of Boston College, Jimmy never forgot where he came from. Our thoughts are with Jimmy’s wife Kristen, his sons Beau and Mac, and the Hayes family during this tragic time,” Mayor Janey said.
