Today around 7:15 p.m. the Boston Fire Department responded to a fire at 24 York Street in Dorchester. The flames were consuming the rear of the second floor and extending to the third floor of the three-family building, according to the agency.
The Fire Department reported that eight adults and six children were displaced, and are now taken care of by the Red Cross of Massachusetts and the City’s Office of Neighborhood Services.
Damages are estimated at $75,000, and the Fire Investigation Unit is reviewing the facts to determine the cause of the fire.
