“Thank you Constituents of the 6th Suffolk District for the honor of electing me for my sixth term! Looking forward to serving you over the next two years!” Holmes stated the day of the ceremony, January 6, 2021.
The 6th Suffolk District is one of the five Districts that comprise the Dorchester community, representing also parts of Mattapan, Hyde Park, Roslindale, and Jamaica Plain.
All Dorchester representatives were sworn in the same day for an additional term, including David Biele in the 4th Suffolk District; Elizabeth Miranda in the 5th Suffolk District; Daniel Hunt in the 13th Suffolk District; and a new face: Brandy Fluker Oakley, who succeeds Representative Daniel Cullinane in the 12th Suffolk District.
At the State Senate, Senator Nick Collins and Senator Sonia Chang-Diaz were sworn in for two more years representing the 1st Suffolk and 2nd Suffolk Districts respectively.
The term for all the Dorchester delegation will end in 2023.
