Photo courtesy of Google Inc.As a part of the “Blue Hill Avenue Transportation Action Plan,” the City’s Transportation Department is seeking proposals from artists to paint a mural on a privately-owned wall at 457 Blue Hill Avenue in Grove Hall, Dorchester.
The project has a budget of $15,000, inclusive of the “artist fee, fabrication, materials, installation, lighting, documentation, and all costs associated with the project,” the agency stated in the formal call for artist document. The wall measures 101 feet long and 13.5 feet tall.

“We’re seeking to improve on the City’s current state of transportation-related equity by re-imagining the avenue’s structures and functions with respect not only to mobility but to safety and public space as well,” the agency explains.
