Photo courtesy of the City of BostonDorchester resident Alexis Trzcinski is the new Director of the Animal Care and Control division of the Boston Parks and Recreation Department.
The promotion was announced by Boston Parks Commissioner Ryan Woods, according to an official press release dated September 22, 2020.
Trzcinski has over 24 years of experience in the field, beginning her career at the Animal Rescue League of Boston.
Preceding her new position, Trzcinski worked for Boston Animal Care and Control in 2004 and served as the Division’s Assistant Director since 2015, where she organized the expansion of the city’s “low-cost animal wellness program,” the local government stated.
“I am excited for the opportunity to have a positive impact on the lives of animals, and build stronger relationships within the community,” Trzcinski said in the statement. “My passion is helping animals in need. Lucky for me, that is also the mission of this talented team.”
Trzcinski is a graduate of UMass Boston and lives in Dorchester with her husband, twin sons, two cats, Bowser and Mack, and her dog, Otter.
