Repeated sex offender Shawn McClinton | Photo courtesy of Boston 25 NewsA 39-year-old Dorchester resident, Shawn McClinton, was arrested by the Boston Police after committing rape in the area of Blue Hill Avenue and Wales Street.
On August 5, around 1:00 p.m., police officers assigned to District B-3 responded to a call for an assault victim. Upon arrival, the officers assisted an adult female victim, who was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Following an “extensive investigation,” the Boston Police Sexual Assault Unit arrested Shawn McClinton.
McClinton, a repeated sex offender, was arraigned on August 6 in the Municipal Court on charges of “aggravated rape, kidnapping for sexual assault, strangulation and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon,” according to the District Attorney office.
According to the prosecutors, the victim spent the evening with McClinton in Dorchester on Tuesday, August 4. The next morning McClinton held the victim against her will and “raped her at knifepoint.” The victim suffered injuries, including lacerations and bruising, in the attack but “was able to flee.”
