Photo courtesy of the Boston Fire DepartmentThe Boston Fire Investigation Unit is analyzing the possible cause of a fire that provoked an estimated $100,000 in damages at the Dorchester branch of the Teen Empowerment organization.
Around 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 14th, 2020, the city’s fire agency responded to a fire at 21 Balfour Street, where the mentioned organization is located.
The Fire Department reported no injuries, something confirmed by the organization in a public statement saying that “luckily, no one was inside and nobody was injured.”
Founded in 1992 and with locations in Dorchester, Somerville, and Rochester (NY) the Center for Teen Empowerment has the mission of “employ, train, and empower youth to, in collaboration with adults, create peace, equity, and justice.”
