State Rep. Liz Miranda infected with COVID-19

The 5th Suffolk (Dorchester) State Representative and community leader Elizabeth “Liz” Miranda has been diagnosed positive with the coronavirus COVID-19.

Miranda says she was tested on April 30th at Dorchester’s Bowdoin Street Health Center and was informed of her diagnosis on May 1st.

“I have experienced various symptoms of the virus, most notably: extreme fatigue, headaches, a dry cough, loss of taste and smell, fevers and body aches,” Miranda said.

The Representative is currently resting at her home, and affirmed that she is “unsure” about how was exposed to the virus.

Many of her family members have also tested positive for the virus.
