The Neighborhood Children’s Theatre of Boston brings to Dorchester the famous Broadway musical “Getting to know… the sound of Music,” the last collaboration written by composers Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein.
Mrs. Michelle McCourt will direct the musical with the assistant director, choreographer, and vocal coach Rachel Webb. Boston Jazz group Manouches Urbains will provide the music.
The show will be held at the Saint Ann Auditorium of Saint John Paul ll Academy, located at 239 Neponset Avenue, Dorchester 02122.
Tickets cost only $5, available at the door. The performance will be presented in two different hours on Friday, February 21st, 2020, at 1:00 PM and 7:00 PM.
Founded in 1979, the Neighborhood Children’s Theatre of Boston is a non-profit organization for aspiring actor-singers ages 7 to 18 in the City of Boston who “enjoy the full theater experience of singing, dancing and acting on stage,” the organization explains. The group performs for ten senior homes, hospitals, and malls during the Christmas season.
