Yesterday, September 24th, 2019, only 11.7% of the electorate cast their vote in the preliminary election to support candidates running to became City Councilor at-large, and City Councilor of the Districts 5,7, 8 and 9. In the other districts, there were no primaries.
Following this weak outcome in the primaries, the candidates running to represent Dorchester Districts on the general election are:

- Michael F. Flaherty (incumbent)

- Althea Garrison (incumbent)

- Frank Baker (incumbent) run unopposed
District IV
- Andrea Campbell (incumbent)
- Jeff Durham
District VII
- Kim Janey (incumbent)
- Roy Owens, Sr.
General elections will be held on November 5th, 2019. Till then, aspirants will seek to get (or keep) a seat in the Council, and hopefully to gain an essential level of trust from the people.
