The Dorchester Food Co-Op announced recently that they reached their milestone of 700 members who joined their organization, getting them closer to reach their goals of empowering the local economy and work on initiatives to make healthy food accessible in the community. The milestone was reached with the newest batch of members brought by outreach committee member Robin Saunders, who helped push beyond the 700° mark with Mark Diodato, Sarah Jacqz, Manuel Boria, Marcos Beleche and Rachel Cortez joining their ranks.

The next milestone goal, according to the organization, is reach 800 members by the end of the year, and those who are interested in the organization’s activities may read more about them here. Meanwhile, their outreach committee is working on a calendar for Summer and Fall activities, among them tabling at community events and PopUPs to bring farm fresh products to different sites in the community, for which they’ll need volunteers.
