Starting on July 1st, 2019, the waste collection in all Boston neighborhoods will be performed at 6 in the morning, instead of 7 a.m.
The change, announced by Mayor Walsh in early June, is part of a series of updates to citywide trash collection services looking to a “more efficient and more effective” services to keep “neighborhoods clean for all.”
With this measure, the waste collection crews will “be able to complete all collection services more efficiently, reducing congestion on city streets during peak hours,” the City’s Public Works Department said.
